COVID-19 Updates: The health and safety of our guests, employees, and animals is Safari Lake Geneva’s top priority. We continue to track COVID-19 updates and directives from federal and local officials as well as medical experts.

Social-distancing guidelines have required us to temporarily suspend our Guided Safari Adventure, as well as to close our gift shop and walk-through area. We are offering a Drive-through Adventure that allows guests to experience our animals from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles. In order to comply with social-distancing guidelines, visitation will be by reservation only, and reservations must be made in advance on our website. Only credit card payments will be accepted. 

What are you doing to mitigate the spread of COVID-19? In order to fully comply with social-distancing regulations, we are currently only offering our Drive-through Adventure option. Additionally, admission sales must be made online with a credit card. Cash payments are not accepted. The provided feed cups are sanitized after each use. Our gift shop and walk-through area are also closed until further notice.

According to the US Centers for Disease for Disease Control and Prevention, “At this time, there is no evidence that animals play a significant role in spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.”

How have state regulations affected Safari Lake Geneva? Governor Evers’ “Safer at Home” order has forced us to suspend our Guided Safari Adventure for the foreseeable future. We are able to remain open, as we are a home-based agricultural business and wildlife sanctuary, which is defined as “an Essential Business” in Section 13(c) of the order, specifically “businesses that provide food, shelter, and other necessities of life for animals. . ..”

Additionally, Section 11(c) of the order, “Essential Activities,” specifically permits citizens:

“To engage in outdoor activity, including visiting public and state parks, provided individuals comply with Social Distancing Requirements. . . .”

What kinds of animals will I see? Our safari experience allows you to see and interact with animals such as American bison, Ankole-Watusi cattle, plains zebra, ostrich, domestic yak, Arabian camel, bactrian camel, water buffalo, llama, alpaca, greater rhea, miniature horse, emu, brahman cattle, scimitar-horned oryx, nilgai antelope, miniature zebu, blackbuck antelope, African spurred tortoise, Pekin ducks and silver Appleyard ducks. We currently have more than 50 animals inhabiting our main reserve. In addition, you may observe some native Wisconsin wildlife. Examples of wildlife we have seen on the property are sandhill cranes, red-tailed hawks, turkey vultures and a variety of songbirds. We have also seen whitetail deer, muskrats, beaver, American toads, green frogs, garter snakes and painted turtles. Please let our staff know if you have any interesting wildlife sightings!

How long should I plan to spend at the park? The Guided Safari Adventure is approximately one hour long, and the average guest spends 15-20 minutes in our walk-through boma. The total guest experience is usually between 75-90 minutes. The Drive-through Adventure allows you to drive your own vehicle through our reserves as many times as you want — so how long you visit with our animals is up to you!

How do I book an adventure? Visitation is currently by reservation only. You can book online on the Book Now page. The online reservation calendar indicates in real-time the number of seats remaining on any given Guided Safari Adventure or Drive-through Adventure.

Do I need to be part of a group in order to book a safari? No. We welcome parties of all sizes – you could even come by yourself! Our online reservation system shows the number of seats remaining on any given Guided Safari Adventure. The Drive-through Adventure allows you to drive your own vehicle through our game reserves.

What does my Guided Safari Adventure admission include? General admission includes a one-hour guided safari adventure through a savanna that is home to more than 50 animals from five continents, and one cup of animal feed per person. Additional feed is available for purchase on the safari wagon or in advance at our welcome center.

When should I arrive for my Guided Safari Adventure? Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled safari.

What should I bring? A camera is a must! We also recommend comfortable closed- toed shoes and a sense of adventure. There is very little walking required, so strollers aren’t necessary for most guests with little ones.

Where is Safari Lake Geneva located? Our property is located roughly 5 miles southeast of downtown Lake Geneva in the village of Bloomfield. The physical address is W1612 Litchfield Rd., and the city does come up as Lake Geneva if you’re using a GPS.

Are you ADA accessible? Safari Lake Geneva is making every effort to be accessible to anyone who wishes to visit our park. We do have gravel paths to the tour wagons, access ramps to the loading platform, and ADA accessible restrooms. Our staff is more than happy to assist guests with their individual needs.

What if I need to cancel or change my booking? We will gladly refund any booking if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival. Otherwise the safari cost is non-refundable but it is transferable to an alternate date. You may reschedule your tour to another date in cases of inclement weather provided you contact us in advance of your scheduled tour time.

Do you have a restaurant on site? We do not have a restaurant, but we do have snacks and water available for purchase. Our staff would be happy to recommend some local restaurants for you!

Do you offer anything special for birthdays? You can rent our Nature Nook for your birthday party, picnic or event. Set apart from the crowds with views into our safari reserve, our picnic area offers seating for up to 60 people. Rental of the Nature Nook is $50 per hour, and can be added on to any safari tour reservation.

For a truly wild and memorable experience, schedule a private meet-and-greet with one of our education animal ambassadors. Our expert educators can bring one (or more!) live animals to visit with your group.

You can add a personalized animal encounter for only $25. Add additional animals for only $10 per animal.

We also offer premium encounters with some of our larger animals, as well as a birthday party safari package. Call for pricing and availability.
