Capybara Experience

They’re cute, they’re trendy, and they’re the largest rodents on Earth! This is your chance to get up close and personal with Safari Lake Geneva’s resident rodents of unusual size. Each experience lasts approximately 20 minutes, during which time you may feed and pet our capybaras, as well as take exclusive photos, all while learning more about these amazing amphibious Amazonian animals!

About the Experience

Park admission is not included but is required.
Participants must be at least three years of age.
Minors under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Groups may be combined for an experience.
Please note that once you have booked a tour, you have secured your exclusive reservation. If you do not attend on your scheduled date, or if you do not cancel within 24 hours of your tour date, no refunds will be issued.
Closed-toe shoes are required.
Due to the location of tours within animal habitats, and the disruptions external animals can cause, service animals are not permitted on this tour. Safari Lake Geneva requests advance notification for guests with mobility concerns. After booking your tour, please call 262-475-8089 if you need specific accommodations.
We will call you to reschedule in the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

About Safari Lake Geneva

A short five miles from downtown Lake Geneva is a drive-through animal park unlike anything else in Chicagoland. We’re not a theme park or zoo, but a unique wildlife preserve that is home to animals from around the world. Our drive-through safari is consistently ranked as one of the most exciting things to do in Lake Geneva!

Safari Lake Geneva is a family-owned business and the brainchild of Wisconsin’s foremost exotic animal expert, “Jungle” Jay Christie. Christie had long dreamed of creating a refuge for the world’s diminishing breeds that allowed animals to roam vast acreage. The result is a conservation park for animals in Wisconsin that allows them to interact with other animals, often in herds, much as they would in their ancestral homelands.

Fun!

The drive through safari was awesome. Animals sticking their head into the car to feed. Buy 2 food cups one for each side of the car. My mom 93 y/o loved it too!

A must do!

What a great place! Animals are everywhere. Greatly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this place, well worth the cost of admission. You must buy food, the experience isn't complete without it! We will be back!

Fun for all ages

As 3 grown-adults we didn't know what to expect, but we had the best time! Many laughs and memories. The animals were awesome! We also looked at the animals in the pens. A different and exciting experience, very enjoyable.

What a wonderful opportunity to come face to face (literally) with a variety of beautiful animals! We purchased buckets of food to feed the animals as we drove through. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we circled for a second time!

First Time Fun!

First visit, and we had an absolute blast! The staff at the gate was really nice and explained how everything works. The kids were screaming with excitement - I’m pretty sure even the giraffes heard them 😅 Unforgettable day!
